The project
You've Got to Be Kidding is an Advanced Production project at Dodge Film school, Chapman University. The goal of these AP projects is not only to create high quality short films, but also to connect talented Dodge students, who will very soon be taking over the entertainment business. Most of the crews for these projects are combined through special AP classes for directing, producing, editing, sound, etc. Consequently, the relationships made on these sets might last forever.
Through exercising their freshly learnt knowledge, students are required to follow strict professional film making procedures including safety meetings, safe equipment and prop handling, location permits, insurance, healthy and nutritious meals, professional casting approach, and much more.
As part of their professional film set upbringing, students have to finance their own films, which forces them to look for creatives ways of approaching such a topic. Some might choose kickstarter, indiegogo, or other fundraising services; however, the team of You've Got to Be Kidding believes in maximizing the fundraising process by eliminating the unnecessary service fees, and creating their own outlet of expression - their personalized website!
